Tresa’s Story: Training Programs at W

Tresa loves the outdoors. Adept at horseback riding and kayaking, she also rebuilds transmissions in her spare time. As a former mechanic, she says the biggest challenge she’s had to face in her life has been lack of respect as a woman in a male-dominated industry; at W International, though, she enjoys the environment as a Weld Trainee, and feels valued and appreciated by her co-workers. Her favorite thing about the company? “I have gained a lot of knowledge in my time working here. When I first started I was not a structural welder, so I’ve enjoyed being able to learn and grow. I’m also learning how to FIT” Tresa says embracing W International’s environment of constant learning is key for new hires. “Working here, you learn a lot of new techniques and information, and it’s important to remain open and receptive to training”.

At W, we grow leaders

Team members at W experience opportunities to develop within a framework of fairness and accountability. As one excel, they can expect genuine responsibilities, mentorship, and rewards.

Health & Safety

We work with enormous industrial components and heavy machinery. By maintaining safety as a non-negotiable priority, we have developed a culture of planning, coordination, and communication that protects our people, our clients, and the people whose well-being depends on systems made from our components.

The health and safety of our employees is W’s #1 priority. Production of a quality product means nothing unless the job was completed safely. SAFE production with first time quality is how W International strives for excellence in steel manufacturing.

Leveling Up

At W, we understand that ongoing learning is a prerequisite to the pursuit of excellence. We are ambitiously dedicated to your success–to the development of your leadership and the refinement of your craft. Our latest investment to this end, a major dedicated training facility to be completed in 2021, will enable further learning and advancement in the areas of welding, dimensional quality, fitting, non-destructive quality testing, rigging, and material handling.

Success is when you’re able to build, mentor, and uplift others. When you’re successful, others around you believe success is also possible for them and that energy bounces around.

Grounded by Our Values

We believe we serve our clients, our people, and the world best by remaining grounded in the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

That’s why we lead from the front, practicing continuous learning, transparent communication, mutual accountability, and willingness to reevaluate our assumptions throughout the organization. Over the years we’ve found that practicing these values makes W a great place to work, too.
